Coronavirus: Georgia Records 1792 New Cases, Positivity Rate Increases to 5.79%

Georgia reported 1 792 coronavirus cases, 663 recoveries, and 10 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

A total of 30 940 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country, including 22 256 rapid tests and 8 684 PCRs.

The testing revealed that Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 030 COVID-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 164 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 163 cases.

The daily test-positivity rate has increased significantly, to 5,79 %, while it was 3,24% in the past 14 days.

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the pandemic has reached 297 728, among them, 282 237 people recovered and 3 959 died. Presently, there are 11 532 active cases of infection in the country.

The number of vaccinated people is 31 019.

29029 people underwent pre-registration for vaccination at booking.moh.gov.ge.
