An international-standard bakery, Breadfield, created with the investment of McDonald’s Georgia, has opened in Tbilisi.

The company supplies buns to McDonalds’ restaurants in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

At the first stage, the bakery is employing 30 people but in the near future, with the expansion of production, 100 people will be employed. 26 million GEL was invested in Breadfield. The bakery will supply its products to 18 local restaurants in the chain, and from 2022 its products will be exported to neighboring countries.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili, noted that McDonald’s Georgia used to import these products from Europe, and with the launch of this enterprise, the import will be replaced, and at the next stage, the enterprise will acquire regional importance and supply to other countries.

The official opening ceremony of Bradfield was attended by US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, President of McDonald’s Georgia Temur Chkonia, CEO Tengiz Kapanadze, other officials, and invited guests.
