Paata Burchuladze, founder of the Rustaveli Avenue movement, announced that a declaration will be adopted during today’s protest, calling the event the first national assembly in Georgia’s history.
“This is the first national assembly in the history of Georgia. We will adopt a declaration, take power back into our hands, and send the usurper Ivanishvili home with his wealth. This day should be and already is historic,” Burchuladze said in an interview with PalitraNews.
He noted that the protest’s start will be slightly delayed due to heavy traffic on the Rikoti Pass, as many supporters are traveling from western Georgia.
A large protest is underway in central Tbilisi, where demonstrators have completely blocked Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square.
