Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, was subjected to verbal abuse and pelted with eggs at the Tbilisi airport.
A video of the incident, widely circulated on social media, depicts Gakharia being accosted with insults, including accusations of being an “unprincipled person, an agent, and a traitor.”
The Gakharia for Georgia party released a statement following the incident, alleging that Gakharia and Elguja Khokrishvili were confronted by a “pre-organized ‘special group” upon their arrival in Tbilisi from the Munich Security Conference.
