Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian met on Friday to discuss the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. They emphasized the growing cooperation between the two countries, particularly following the agreement on strategic partnership, according to the Georgian Government’s Administration.
During the meeting, Ambassador Qian congratulated Prime Minister Kobakhidze on his party’s success in the October parliamentary elections and the subsequent approval of the new government formation.
The discussions focused on the current state of political and cultural ties between Georgia and China, as well as opportunities to further strengthen trade and economic relations. Special mention was made of the involvement of Chinese partners in the Anaklia deep sea port project, which aims to enhance logistical connectivity between Asia and Europe through Georgia’s Black Sea coast.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his efforts in advancing the bilateral relationship between Georgia and China.
