Celebrated annually on September 26, the European Day of Languages provides a necessary platform to popularize language learning and linguistic diversity. This year, the celebration will consist of two virtual meetings organized by the European Commission, with the main message being to learn multiple languages at any age.
Since the Council of Europe’s 46 member states represent 700 million people, the project promotes learning languages as part of individuals’ educational journeys. The Council of Europe believes that linguistic diversity is at the heart of European cultural heritage.
The European Day of Languages, since its formation in 2001, cherishes multilingualism and connects Europeans in their journey of language acquisition, encouraging cultural diversity.
The Georgian EUNIC has existed since 2012 and has invited schools to celebrate. This year’s agenda is listed below:
