“…This [Russian law] forces us to fundamentally reevaluate our relationship with Georgia”, President Biden’s spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said in a pre-prepared statement in the White House, responding to current events in Georgia.
“This weekend, we saw the largest protests in the history of Georgia, attended by tens of thousands of peaceful protesters, against whom tactics of intimidation are ineffective…
“The Georgian people want a Euro-Atlantic future. We will see what the parliament will do. If this law is finally adopted, it will force us to fundamentally reevaluate our relations with Georgia…” – the press spokesperson said, explaining that the US will wait for President Salome Zurabishvili to veto the law.
Georgian Dream accepted the “Russian law” yesterday, May 14, in the third reading.
