“I have given my whole life to Georgia and the only thing I ask for is to be given adequate treatment. My condition has worsened. If I do not live to see the victory of Ukraine, which is close, my heart should be buried in Kyiv: It belongs to Ukraine,” said the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.
He participated in the trial, which was held today, remotely from the Vivamedi clinic. Saakashvili addressed the court in Georgian and Ukrainian.
He noted that he is proud because everyone admires the Ukrainian people. “I am proud that Zelensky is the president, I am grateful to his office,” Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili’s lawyers applied to the court for the postponement of the sentence or the release from the sentence for the former president of Georgia. Judge Giorgi Arevadze will consider the said motion.
