Today, on November 16, the world celebrates International Day of Tolerance.

“Tolerance, appreciation of a human being, respect for dignity, and acceptance of the different make up a continuous tradition of our great culture and history and an inseparable part of the Georgian identity. Over the centuries, different people of various ethnicities, creeds, and traditions have coexisted in our land in dignity, creating the history of our common homeland together,” stated the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili.

He remarked, even today, this great legacy and values are the foundation for building a modern, European Georgia and a peaceful, development-oriented society. Every group of this society, and each of its members, should have a sense of being a participant and creator of this important process.

“The Constitution of our country recognizes and guarantees the fundamental values of human rights and freedoms. We respect and will always protect the dignity and freedom of each citizen,” noted Garibashvili.
