Consultations on ‘Referendum’ on Unification of Occupied Tskhinvali with Russia To Be Held in Moscow

Consultations on the so-called referendum on the unification of occupied Tskhinvali with Russia will be held in Moscow on June 14, reports Sputnik.

“Consultations will be held on June 14. The delegation also includes parliament speaker Alan Tadtaev, supreme court chairman Olesia Kochieva, central election commission chairman Emilia Gagiev, acting foreign minister Dmitri Medoev and presidential adviser Konstantin Kochiev,” Sputnik says.

In late March, the former de facto leader of the so-called republic, Anatoly Bibilov, announced that “South Ossetia” would take steps to join Russia and unite with North Ossetia.

Bibilov said the “republic” has repeatedly tried to join Russia, and the people want to achieve this goal.

The referendum on unification was scheduled for July 17 by “presidential decree”, however, “president” Alan Gagloev suspended the order to hold a referendum in anticipation of consultations with Moscow.
