Georgia reported 4,337 coronavirus cases, 3,137 recoveries, and 42 deaths on October 27, the official figures show.
53,434 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,412 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 873 cases and the Kakheti region with 614 cases.
The daily test-positivity rate now stands at 8,12%, while it was 8,8% in the past seven days.
The country’s total case tally reached 703,281, among them, 642,701 people recovered and 9,873 died.
Currently, out of 1,542 critical patients, 332 require mechanical ventilation.
925,169 people are fully vaccinated – 32.4% of the adult population.
Regarding the low vaccination rate in the country, NCDC Head Amiran Gamkrelidze admits that the communication campaign should have been stronger.
“We admit that the communication campaign should have been stronger and more aggressive, but Georgians have a good saying – “Better late than never,” said Gamkrelidze.
