“I promise the population of the capital, by the end of the year, no so-called yellow minibusses to be working in the city,” stated Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi mayoral candidate of the party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia.”

Kaladze introduced the main directions of transport policy to the public.

The mayoral candidate notes he wants to reduce the waiting period for buses to seven minutes, therefore they decided to introduce an additional 180 units, eight-meter buses in the capital. Kaladze added, in addition, the replacement of minibusses is a very important program and promised the population of the capital that by the end of the year, there will be no so-called yellow minibus. There will be only renewed, ecologically clean, and European-type minibusses that will serve the population of Tbilisi.

“The ‘smart’ transport system must be regulated, which will allow us to move around the city very easily. There will be 380 new buses in Tbilisi, 180 of which will be eight-meter buses, and next year we are going to purchase 200 18-meter buses. Ten transit corridors will be created in the city, which will allow public transport to move very fast, without any delays,” Kaladze said.
