Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling party, will head the Georgian Dream election headquarters. He made the relevant statement at the briefing after the sitting of the political board.
He noted that the leader of the Georgian Dream election campaign in Tbilisi will be mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze, while Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will lead the campaign across the country.
At a briefing, he highlighted that the issue of calling early elections will in no way depend on the outcome of the self-government elections.
“Even if we get 3% like Lelo for Georgia Party, there will be no early parliamentary elections,” he said.
The party chairman noted that the ruling team is confident that it will repeat the results of the 2017 self-government elections when the GD won in all constituencies under the proportional contest and secured 63 out of 64 mayoral positions.
Notably, only 3 of the mayoral candidates nominated by the Georgian Dream in 64 municipalities are women.
Women will fight for mayoral positions only in Rustavi, Ninotsminda and Dusheti. These candidates are:
Nino Latsabidze – Rustavi
Anivard Mosoyan – Ninotsminda
Manana Narimanidze – Dusheti
