Controllers in Batumi will be equipped with side video cameras when checking passengers, as part of efforts to make ticket inspections more transparent, the Batumi Municipal Inspectorate said.
The agency noted that one inspector in each control group will wear a camera and record the inspection process during passenger checks.
“In order to improve the control process and objectively record it, the Batumi Municipal Inspectorate has equipped specialists with side video cameras. One employee from the group of controllers working at a specific location will be equipped with a camera, who will video record the process,” the agency stated.
It added that the system is aimed at protecting passengers’ rights and ensuring greater transparency in the work of inspectors.
The Batumi Municipal Inspectorate reported that the Passenger Flow Supervision Department identified 5,265 cases of free travel on municipal transport this year.
