A traditional procession is currently underway in Tbilisi to mark the Day of Family Purity, moving from the St. George Church of Kashveti to the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral (Sameba).
The procession includes parish communities and their clergy, as well as Sunday school groups from both the Mtskheta-Tbilisi Archdiocese and other dioceses of the Georgian Orthodox Church across the country.
At Sameba Cathedral, worshippers arriving through the prayer procession will be blessed by the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia.
Meanwhile, at the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral in Tbilisi, His Holiness and Beatitude Shio III, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, is set to lead his first festive liturgy.
The service will be attended by delegations from various local Orthodox Churches that arrived in Georgia specifically for the Patriarch’s enthronement, along with other guests, members of the Georgian Orthodox clergy, and the monastic community.
