Economy Ministry discusses summer season with airlines

Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and Deputy Economy Minister Tamar Ioseliani meet with representatives of various airlines.

Economy Ministry says Georgia’s aviation sector continues to grow despite regional challenges, with passenger traffic and flight numbers increasing in the first quarter of 2026.

Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and Deputy Economy Minister Tamar Ioseliani met with airline representatives to discuss the summer navigation season, aviation market stability and future cooperation.

The Ministry says 2025 was a record year for Georgia’s aviation sector, with more than 70 airlines operating on over 120 air routes and around 760 weekly flights during the peak season.

The parties also discussed global challenges affecting the aviation industry and ways to respond to potential risks in a coordinated manner.

The Ministry of Economy says negotiations are ongoing with airlines and aviation authorities from various countries to launch new direct flights to Georgia.
