Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties with Georgia following a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili on the sidelines of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan.
“On the margins of the EPC summit in Yerevan, I held a pull-aside meeting with my Georgian counterpart,” Sybiha wrote on social media.
Ukrainian minister noted that the talks focused on a broad range of bilateral, regional and international issues, with particular emphasis on enhancing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.
“We exchanged views on a range of bilateral, regional, and international developments. We also discussed European integration and the EU’s important role in global affairs. We paid separate attention to expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. Agreed to stay in further contact,” Sybiha stated.
The meeting comes amid ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two countries during the EPC summit. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the gathering.
Georgian government announced that that meeting was initiated by the Ukrainian side and focused on the state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
