With 83 votes in favor and 12 against, Parliament passed in the first reading amendments to the Law on “Structure, Powers and Rules of Activity of the Government of Georgia,” which establish the position of State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies within the government. The bill is being considered under an expedited procedure.
Based on the draft law, the material-technical and organizational support for the new State Minister’s activities will be provided by the Government Administration.
Parliamentary Secretary of the Government, Vakhtang Bachiaashvili, says the State Minister’s powers will be specified by a government decree.
The State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies will be based in the Government Administration building.
After the bill is adopted in all three readings, Mamuka Mdinaradze will be appointed as the State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies.
