Georgia starts major digital marketing campaign targeting primary tourism markets

In a bid to enhance its international visibility, Georgia has started a major digital marketing campaign targeting primary tourism markets — the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The campaign is a joint effort between the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA), global travel booking platform Expedia and the renowned travel media brand Beautiful Destinations.

As part of the campaign, a dedicated guide to Georgia is now live on Expedia, featuring comprehensive information about the country’s natural landscapes, resorts, wine regions, and gastronomy. Travelers can not only explore what Georgia has to offer but also plan their trips and book accommodations directly through the platform.

“Discover Georgia’s unique nature, rich culture, and delicious cuisine. Not many know about Georgia — but now, you do” reads one of the promotional messages by Expedia.

The GNTA noted that the campaign aims to position Georgia as a must-visit destination in competitive tourism markets.

The digital travel guide also includes highlights such as UNESCO World Heritage sites, upcoming festivals, and insights into Georgia’s wine-making and culinary traditions. Banner ads across Expedia’s website direct users to special landing pages designed exclusively for promoting Georgia.

As the GNTA declared, Expedia reaches over 46 million users, while Beautiful Destinations’ combined social media audience is more than 50 million, a strategic advantage for elevating Georgia’s global tourism.
