Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has criticized unreasonable fines imposed on protesters, revealing that $300,000 in fines were issued in a single day and $18 million since the start of demonstrations.
“$300,000 of fines imposed on peaceful protesters in one day. $18 million since the start of protests,” Zurabishvili stated, condemning it.
She also pointed to billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili’s recent tax-free import of an art collection worth $500 million. “Thanks to the ‘offshore’ law and avoiding sanctions, Ivanishvili brought to Georgia his art collection worth $1/2 billion, without paying any customs fees!” she noted.
