"Solidus" Brings Fuel Into Occupied Abkhazia.

Georgia imported 1.05 million tons of petroleum products worth $967 million in January–July 2026, marking a 32.7% increase in value and an 8.7% increase in volume compared with the same period last year, BM.Ge reported.

In the first seven months of 2025, Georgia imported 970,000 tons of fuel worth $729 million.

The increase in imports was greater in value than in volume. As a result, the average import value of fuel was approximately $917 per ton in January-July 2026, compared with around $751 per ton during the same period in 2025.

Russia remains Georgia’s largest fuel supplier

Russia remained the largest source of petroleum product imports. In the first seven months of 2026, Georgia imported 392,841 tons of petroleum products worth $292 million from Russia.

Russia accounted for approximately 30% of total imports by value and 37% by volume.

However, fuel imports from Russia declined by 10.7% compared with the same period in 2025.

Turkey ranks second

Turkey was the second-largest supplier, with $135 million worth of fuel imports. Georgia imported 112,529 tons of fuel from Turkey in January–July 2026, representing a 153.9% increase from the same period last year.

Romania ranks third

Romania ranked third, with Georgia importing 139,379 tons of petroleum products worth $131 million.

Imports from Romania declined by 1.4% in value compared with the same period in 2025.

Imports from Azerbaijan rise by 131.1%

Fuel imports from Azerbaijan also increased significantly. In the first seven months of 2026, Georgia imported 90,135 tons of petroleum products worth $88 million from Azerbaijan, a 131.1% increase year-on-year.

Belarus records sharpest increase

The sharpest increase was recorded in imports from Belarus. Georgia imported 56,204 tons of fuel worth $56 million from Belarus in January–July 2026, marking a 3,504.3% increase compared with the same period last year.

  • Russia: $292 million | 392,841 tons | 10.7% decline
  • Turkey: $135 million | 112,529 tons | 153.9% increase
  • Romania: $131 million | 139,379 tons | 1.4% decline
  • Azerbaijan: $88 million | 90,135 tons | 131.1% increase
  • Belarus: $56 million | 56,204 tons | 3,504.3% increase
