Fox News journalist Nana Sajaia shares on social media that the US Congress has passed a bill titled ‘Georgian Nightmare Non-Recognition Act’.
“The bill prohibits recognizing Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream government, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and his associates,” Sajaia shared on January 8. The bill also bans federal funding for actions suggesting recognition.
The proposal appoints President Salome Zurabishvili’s leadership as sole and primary in Georgia and follows the example of the 2023 ‘Assad Regime Non-Recognition Act’, passed with bipartisan support.
