Two Chinese citizens have been arrested on theft charges, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The investigation established that the suspects allegedly stole $7,800 and €4,450 belonging to two passengers while traveling on the same flight.
Law enforcement officers identified the suspects shortly after the incident through operational measures and investigative actions and arrested them at the airport as defendants.
The stolen money was recovered as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 177, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
