Tbilisi Mayor Kaha Kaladze said he sees no problem in giving an interview to a Russian-language blogger. He spoke to the media about the matter.

Kaladze said he met the blogger by chance several days ago.

“I don’t know whether this particular person is a blogger or a journalist. A few days ago, I was visiting municipal works. Then I went into a café to buy coffee and happened to meet this woman. She told me she was making a story about Tbilisi and asked me some questions.” Kaladze said he saw no problem with the interview.

“I will say again that anyone who wants to visit our country can come at any time, regardless of their origin. Whether they are Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, American or from another country, everyone can come and spend pleasant days here. They will spend money, which will benefit our economy and people working in the tourism sector,” Kaladze said.

Asked by journalists why he spoke to the blogger only about Georgian cuisine rather than various tourist attractions, Kaladze said: “In addition to traditional food, we have many attractions.”

“The question was about hospitality, and that is what I answered. Of course, in addition to traditional food, we have many attractions. That is precisely why our country is interesting and why visitors from different countries around the world are interested in coming here.” Kaladze said Georgian cuisine and wine are also highly popular because they are part of the country’s culture and traditions.
