Traffic movement in Tbilisi’s Sololaki district will be temporarily restricted in two phases starting April 18 due to scheduled rehabilitation works on Giorgi Leonidze and Sulkhan-Saba streets, city authorities have announced.
During the first phase, which will last for 10 days, traffic will be limited on Giorgi Leonidze Street at its intersection with Sulkhan-Saba Street. Vehicles will be able to navigate the area via alternative routes, including Ivane Machabeli, G. Lortkipanidze and G. Kikodze streets. Access to Pavle Ingorokva Street will remain possible from Kikodze Street through Giorgi Leonidze Street.
In the second phase, traffic will be restricted for 30 days on Sulkhan-Saba Street, which connects to Leonidze Street. During this period, drivers will be redirected to use Pavle Ingorokva Street as the main alternative route.
Public transport will also be affected during the rehabilitation works. Buses operating on routes N316, 324, 364, 380, 382, 383, 390 and 408 will be rerouted from Giorgi Leonidze Street toward Paolo Iashvili Street via Ivane Machabeli, Mikheil Lermontov and Giga Lortkipanidze streets, after which they will continue along their regular routes.
Authorities urge drivers to plan their journeys in advance and follow temporary traffic signs in the area.
