One of the capital’s biggest cultural events, the Tbilisi International Theater Festival, returns this fall with a new lineup of performances from Georgia and abroad. Running since 2009, the festival marks its 17th edition, supported by TBC Concept and Visa, with a dual program showcasing both local and international productions.
The event opens on September 16 with a showcase of Georgian theater, while the international program launches on September 21. This year’s highlights include ‘Richard III’ by Itay Tiran (Gesher Theater, Israel), Ivan Blackstock’s ‘Traplord’ (UK), ‘The House’ by Dimitris Kananras (Onassis Stegi, Greece), and ‘The White Helicopter’ by Alvis Hermanis (New Riga Theater, Latvia).
Performances will be staged across primary venues including Theater 42, Marjanishvili Theater and Griboedov Theater. In addition to performances, the festival will feature masterclasses and workshops running through December.
