With the support of TBC, a sport climbing festival was held near the town of Bediani in Tsalka Municipality, bringing together more than 50 participants and guests this year. The festival aims to promote healthy lifestyles among young people, support the development of sport climbing, and strengthen the region’s tourism potential.
For TBC, change begins with creating new opportunities. That is why the bank believes it is important to give young people spaces where they can test their abilities, take independent steps, and gain confidence in their own potential. Such experiences contribute to their personal development and progress while also generating new interest, greater engagement, and opportunities for development in the regions.
The sport climbing festival was first held in 2024 in the village of Nikozi and is now becoming an annual tradition. For the past two years, Bediani has hosted the festival. The two-day event brought together experienced athletes, members of the climbing clubs in Nikozi and Bediani, amateur climbers, and others interested in sport climbing. The competition was held across three age categories.
The project supports not only the promotion of sport but also raises awareness of Bediani and the adventure camp located in the surrounding area, highlights the region’s tourism potential, and encourages greater youth participation and interest in sport climbing.
At the same time, the festival provides young people with an environment where they can test their abilities, develop independence, share experiences, and support one another. These experiences give them the confidence to take on real-life challenges, discover their strengths, and take new steps toward personal growth.

We believe that initiatives like this not only contribute to the development of young people but also help transform the region and inspire new ideas,” said Lazare Komakhidze, climber and founder of the Bediani Climbing Festival.
