With the support of TBC Concept and Visa, the Tbilisi International Ballet Festival will take place from July 5 to July 19, bringing together some of the world’s leading ballet artists for one of Georgia’s most anticipated cultural events.
Founded in 2017, the Tbilisi International Ballet Festival is held annually at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre under the artistic direction of renowned ballerina Nino Ananiashvili.
This year marks the festival’s seventh edition. Alongside the State Ballet of Georgia, audiences will enjoy performances by internationally acclaimed ballet stars, distinguished Georgian dancers pursuing successful careers abroad, and one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary dance companies.
Festival Programme
July 5 – Opening Performance
The festival opens with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, featuring Mariam Lomjaria alongside Davi Ramos, Principal Artist of The Australian Ballet, in the leading roles.
July 7–8
Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty will feature principal dancers Emma Hawes and Aitor Arrieta of English National Ballet, together with leading soloists of the State Ballet of Georgia, Mariam Eloshvili and Masaaki Goto.
July 10
Audiences will experience Alexander Krein’s Laurencia, presented with the legendary choreography of Vakhtang Chabukiani, starring Nino Samadashvili and Giorgi Potskhishvili, Principal Dancer of Dutch National Ballet.
July 12
The State Ballet of Georgia will present a spectacular Ballet Gala, featuring celebrated Georgian and international ballet stars.
July 17–19 – Festival Closing
The festival will conclude with performances by the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, presenting Masurca Fogo, one of the company’s iconic productions.
