TBC and Bank of Georgia to allocate 5 million GEL to help those affected during the protests

TBC and Bank of Georgia announce that they will allocate GEL 5 million to support those affected by the pro-European protests and small and medium-sized businesses.

The country’s largest banks wrote in a joint statement on December 19:

“Due to the events taking place in the country, TBC and Bank of Georgia will jointly allocate GEL 5,000,000, which will be directed to support affected citizens, as well as small and medium-sized businesses.”

Based on their statement, the financial resources

“will be directed to support small and medium-sized businesses, as well as to funds that provide legal, financial, or health-related support to citizens affected by the protests.”

The press release reads that a part of the amount allocated by the banks – GEL 2.5 million – will be distributed to the following funds:

#For Each Other;

Solidarity Fund Prosperity Georgia;
Tbilisi Human Rights House.

And the second part of the amount – also 2.5 million GEL – will be used to implement joint initiatives in collaboration with partner businesses, including Mymarket.ge, Glovo, tkt.ge and others.

In particular, the banks say, the initiatives are as follows:

TBC and mymarket.ge

For those entrepreneurs who are unable to participate in the canceled Christmas markets due to the current situation, an online market will be organized on Mymarket.

Entrepreneurs will participate in the Christmas online market on the Mymarket platform without a commission fee.

Customers who purchase products on Mymarket will receive additional “cashback” on their TBC cards.

TBC and Glovo

TBC and Glovo are uniting to support entrepreneurs and food establishments that have lost or reduced their source of income due to the situation in the country.

Those who purchase products from these establishments from Glovo will receive an additional discount on their TBC cards.

TBC and tkt.ge

In order for theaters and cultural organizations to continue their activities despite canceled performances and events, within the framework of the joint initiative of TBC Bank and tkt.ge, ticket prices for events planned and canceled during the month of December will be transferred to the fund to support theaters and their actors.

TBC and Swoop.ge

On the platform, it will be possible to purchase specific hotel rooms at the symbolic price of a voucher.

The difference between the value of the voucher and the market value of the room will be compensated within the framework of this joint initiative of TBC and Swoop.ge.

Bank of Georgia and Extra

Bank of Georgia and extra.ge are uniting to support small businesses. As part of this association, an online market will be organized on extra.ge for those entrepreneurs who are unable to participate in the canceled Christmas markets due to the current situation.

Entrepreneurs will participate in the Christmas online market on the extra.ge platform without a commission.

They will also use the delivery service without a commission. Customers who purchase products from these entrepreneurs on Extra will receive 10 times more PLUS points, which will be financed by the bank.

The offer will be valid until January 15.

Bank of Georgia and Ads Manager

As part of supporting small entrepreneurs, Bank of Georgia offers businesses to make offers from the bank’s Ads Manager (digital offer management platform) for free. Customers who take advantage of this offer will receive 50 times more PLUS points from the Bank of Georgia, which will be funded by the bank until the end of January.

Bank of Georgia and Biletebi.ge

In order to ensure that theaters and cultural organizations can continue their activities despite canceled performances and events, Bank of Georgia is joining the Biletebi.ge initiative.

This means that if a customer purchases tickets for canceled events before January 1, Bank of Georgia will double the amount received from the sale.

Gift Cards

As part of its support for small entrepreneurs, Bank of Georgia is implementing another initiative and is offering businesses to create gift cards for customers without a commission from Ads Manager.

Customers will have the opportunity to purchase a gift card in advance and thus support entrepreneurs. They will be able to use the purchased gift card at any time they wish.

Bank of Georgia and Wolt

In order to support those Georgian entrepreneurs and food establishments that do not participate in the Christmas market, Bank of Georgia and WOLT are joining forces. This means that customers who purchase services and products from these establishments from Wolt with a Bank of Georgia card will receive additional cashback.

Journalists were also injured.

The Public Defender reports that his representatives visited 362 people in clinics and isolation centers from November 28 to December 16. Of these:

227 indicated ill-treatment;

158 had visible injuries.

Businessman Giorgi Chugoshvili created the “Platform of Free Businesses” on December 15, where various companies, small, medium and large, join the demands for new elections and the release of those arrested.

The number of companies reaches 1,110 by December 19.
