TAV Georgia keeps its investments in the modernization and digitalization of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports, with the primary focus on improving passenger experience through enhanced technologies. The company has invested 6.5 million GEL in IT development projects over the past three years, and has allocated 6 million GEL for IT infrastructure maintenance annually.
TAV Technologies, a subsidiary of TAV Airports Holding, offers tech services to over 50 airports across 20 countries, providing service to more than 400 million passengers every year. Its systems are used at airports in Tbilisi, Batumi, and Baku.
Recent upgrades at Tbilisi International Airport include the launch of a self-boarding system, known as the E Gate, which has already served over 50,000 passengers since 2024. Two more E Gates are expected in 2025. Beyond these, self-check-in kiosks, currently used by airlines such as Air France, LOT, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines, will be expanded in both number and compatibility.
Tbilisi Airport has also introduced a fully automated car parking system, while flight information displays (FIDS) have been upgraded in both Tbilisi and Batumi.
“The increase in passenger traffic demands more efficient service tools,” said Mindia Gablaia, IT Manager at TAV Technologies Georgia. “In 2025, we plan to introduce AI-based informational robots to assist passengers, and upgrade our operational system, TAMS, which manages key airport functions.”
