Structural Changes Made in UNM

Structural Changes Made in UNM

Koba Nakopia has been named the Chairman of the political council of the United National Movement, while Nika Melia, in addition to holding the chairmanship of the party, will also head the UNM’s Tbilisi unit. He will take over the post instead of Zaal Udumashvili. Petre Tsiskarishvili has been appointed the Secretary General of the party.

These decisions were made by the party at a meeting of the political council.

Melia noted that the active process of renewal will continue both in Tbilisi and in the regions.

“The need for change is due to the challenges facing the UN and the state,” Melia said at a briefing.

Koba Nakopia stated that the party’s political council needs the right management, and the structural changes implemented serve this purpose.

“What really happened is the strengthening of the party – do you think that anyone is happily striving for any position?”, he told reporters.
