A Russian-style crackdown on LGBTI is another red flag for Georgia‘s EU ambitions. Georgian Dream must stop initiatives to destroy Georgia future, – Michael Roth, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Parliament (Bundestag), tweeted.

“After attacking critical civil society with the “foreign agent law” Georgian government targets sexual minorities. A Russian-style crackdown on LGBTI is another red flag for Georgia‘s EU ambitions. Ruling Party must stop initiatives to destroy Georgia future”, he said.

The parliamentary majority is introducing a package of laws that will regulate 8 issues related to marriage, adoption, sex change procedures, LGBT propaganda, gathering of sexual minorities. Among them, the package concerns broadcasters, namely it will not be allowed for a broadcaster to disseminate information aimed at promoting a person’s belonging to a gender different from his or her gender, same-sex relationship or incest.
