The renovated Elene Akhvlediani House Museum, originally opened in 1976 after her death, reopens for guests on November 7, the Georgian National Museum reports.
The restoration initiative, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, modernized the building with new heating, cooling, and lighting systems, as well as a storage space. The museum’s original atmosphere has been meticulously preserved, with the main focus on showcasing the artist’s living and working environment.
In the project’s scope, over 100 graphic works, 44 paintings, and 19th-century Georgian textiles, were restored and conserved. The museum also plans to continue its tradition of hosting concerts and other cultural events.
The initiative had a budget of GEL 376,180 and was executed by the company ‘AbsolutePlus’.
