Reinforcement Works on Retaining Wall of Landslide Area on Bagebi-Tskneti Road to Start

Today, on June 9, at the meeting of the Tbilisi Municipality Government, the Mayor of the city, Kakha Kaladze, announced that works on strengthening the retaining wall of the landslide area on the Bagebi-Tskneti road will begin.

“In March of this year, a landslide zone was detected in the section on the Bagebi-Tskneti road, before the Kaklebi settlement crossing, which made it necessary to take preventive measures. For safety reasons, the relevant works were carried out urgently. At the next stage, we have announced a tender for the thorough reinforcement of the landslide slope, we have a winning company. The works envisaged by the agreement will start in the coming days and will be completed within three months,” the Tbilisi mayor said.

Kakha Kaladze, touched upon traffic-related issues, area near the Sports Palace is a problematic traffic space due to McDonald’s “drive.” During peak hours a number of waiting cars are being formed. Tbilisi City Hall has decided that if a car stops in the bus lane, even for a queue on the “drive”, it will be fined.
