A protest rally and march will take place in the capital today, with two separate processions planned. At 19:00, participants will begin marching from two locations: the first building of Tbilisi State University and the old headquarters of the Public Broadcaster.
By 20:00, demonstrators are expected to converge in front of the Parliament.
University professors and teachers have announced that they will join the demonstration, making the declaration symbolically in the courtyard of Tbilisi State University. Representatives from various sectors — including opposition politicians — are also set to take part in the rally-march.
November 28 marks one year since Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared that, under the decision of Georgian Dream, the issue of opening EU accession negotiations would not be placed on the agenda before the end of 2028.
The statement sparked protests that have continued for 365 consecutive days. Demonstrators continue to gather in front of the Parliament with the same demands: calling new parliamentary elections and releasing those detained during the protest actions.
