Parliament starts consideration of foreign agents bills

The Committee discussed the termination of the credentials for 5 MPs – Giorgi Amilakhvari, Irakli Kovzanadze, Vladimir Chachibaia, Nino Iobashvili and Giorgi Khelashvili.

As the Chair of the Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili noted, the termination of the credentials for Amilakhvari ahead of time results from his appointment as the Education and Science Minister, which is the position incompatible with the parliamentary mandate.

The credentials of Kovzanadze are being terminated ahead of time on the basis of his personal allocation. As to Chachibaia and Iobashvili, they were appointed on the position of Advisor to the Cabinet of the Prime Minister; and Khelashvili assumes the position of Advisor to the Speaker.

Pursuant to the Constitution of Georgia and the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure, hereof positions are recognized as incompatible with the parliamentary mandate and hence, the Committee approved the termination of the credentials.
