Proud of our people protesting peacefully the latest Russian provocation – a Russian cruise liner visiting the Georgian port of Batumi while Putin blocks grain shipments and hinders free navigation in the Black Sea, writes Georiga’s President Salome Zurabishvili.
“Black Sea security is vital for Georgia, Ukraine, and the EU,” notes Zurabishvili in a tweet.
For information, the Astoria Grande cruise ship from Sochi entered Batumi port at dawn on June 27, and left the city in the evening amid noise and protests.
A rally was held in Batumi port to protest the cruise ship’s entry and Russian citizens’ arrival.
The participants of the rally performed the anthems of Georgia and Ukraine. The rally participants chanted: “Abkhazia is Georgia”, “Russia is an occupier”, “Leave our country”.
