A water cannon is being used near the Parliament building where the protest rally is taking place against the potential adoption of Russian laws on ‘foreign agents’.
Special forces are mobilized on both Chichinadze and Chitadze streets, either side of the parliament building.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned the participants of the rally to leave the surrounding area with a repeated announcement.
The participants of the rally continue to protest, with some young men throwing objects at the police.
Police are holding the line otherwise peacefully to keep protesters back from the side and rear entrances to the building.
