“The European Union strongly condemns Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Georgia’s Abkhazia, in the separatist region, despite the fact that Lukashenko as a person has no legitimacy to act as head of state,” stated European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano.
He made a remark, this visit was carried out without the consent of the Government of Georgia, which is the only legitimate authority of the Abkhazia region.
“This visit violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and is a gross violation of international law. The only thing I can add is to confirm the strong and strong support of the European Union to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders,” stated Stano.
