The President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, has held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia, Petra Ponevác-Pana, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries’ central banks.

During the talks, the sides emphasized the long-standing partnership between the National Bank of Georgia and the Central Bank of Hungary and explored ways to further deepen this collaboration. Particular attention was given to ongoing and future joint initiatives, as well as opportunities to enhance regional cooperation.

Turnava briefed the Hungarian Ambassador on the National Bank of Georgia’s main strategic priorities and current projects. It was also announced that the two central banks are planning to sign a Memorandum of Understanding which is expected to provide a structured institutional action for closer cooperation. The planned MoU will cover areas such as payment systems, financial services and the exchange of best practices.
