A 16-year-old teenager has died in Tskneti. Locals told journalists that the boy was killed by electric wiring in the square, a place where children commonly played, but where repair works were ongoing.
Tbilisi City Hall says that landscaping works were in progress at the site, however, these works had nothing to do with electricity or electrical wiring.
An investigation is being conducted under Article 240 of the Criminal Code, which involves a violation of safety rules during mining, construction, or other work.
Soon after, the administration of Vake district published a statement which claimed that in the square where the incident happened, electrical equipment was installed illegally, in violation of safety norms.
