Minister of Culture Meets with Secretary General of UNESCO

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, Tea Tsulukiani, met with the Secretary General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay in Paris, the Ministry of Culture has reported.

The topic of discussion was the urgent need to protect the cultural heritage of Georgia in the occupied territories and they stressed the responsibility of the Russian Federation in these territories, which was unequivocally confirmed by the Strasbourg court on January 21 this year.

The meeting also touched upon the most important event in Tbilisi “Tbilisi – World Book Capital”, which is implemented under the auspices of UNESCO. At the same time, Audrey Azoulay and Tea Tsulukiani spoke about the activities of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia in the direction of creative industries, they discussed the Ministry of Culture’s LEPL “Creative Georgia,” which, as the Minister noted, should become a leading organization within the Ministry of Culture.
