Mikheil Saakashvili to His Supporters: I’m Not Afraid of Anything

Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili addressed his supporters via his Facebook page. It was recorded before the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested him.

“I may be detained in Tbilisi now, but mind that we are fighting till the end. We will all gather tomorrow. A lot of people are taking to the streets and we are winning this election,” Saakashvili told viewers.

He says that he is firm and is not afraid of anything.

“Do not be afraid of anything. You are going to the polls tomorrow. Vote and we will all celebrate victory together.

“I am very firm, resilient. I came here to help you. We had no other choice. I am not afraid of anything and you should not be afraid either,” Saakashvili said.

The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, was arrested this evening.

Today, on October 1, he announced he was back in the country and posted videos from Batumi. His presence in the country was denied by the authorities due to the principle of “need to know” and the ongoing attempts to catch him.
