TBC Supports Georgia’s National AI Team Ahead of IOAI 2026
As the principal supporter of Georgia’s national technology Olympiads, TBC continues to invest in the achievements of the next generation. Guided by the belief that education is the key to success, TBC is supporting Georgia’s National AI Team as it competes at the 3rd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026), taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan, from August 2–8.
With TBC’s support, the Georgian Artificial Intelligence Association organized an intensive, months-long training program for the national team at the Tech Olympiads Hub, established at the Business and Technology University (BTU). As part of the specialized GAIA Olympiad curriculum, team members received advanced practical training in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science to prepare for the international competition.
The team is led by Head Coach Shota Elqanishvili, with Luka Darsalia and Nika Mikaberidze serving as co-coaches.
“Our success at the Central European AI Olympiad further strengthened our confidence that we can compete at the highest international level,” said Shota Elqanishvili, Head Coach of Georgia’s National AI Team. “Each year we continue to refine our training methods to help every student reach their full potential. We believe this dedication and hard work will translate into strong results at the International Olympiad.”
“We know that Astana will bring together the world’s strongest AI teams, but our students are well prepared for the challenge,” said Luka Darsalia, Co-Coach of the national team. “The intensive preparation has given the team confidence, while working with such exceptionally talented students is also a continuous learning experience for us as mentors.”
“Our goal is to achieve outstanding results and bring home medals,” added Nika Mikaberidze-Iriani, Co-Coach of the team. “We have invested tremendous effort into the preparation process, developing a program aligned with international standards. We are confident that this work will be reflected in the team’s performance.”
The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) is one of the world’s most prestigious technology competitions for high school students, bringing together top young AI talents from more than 100 countries. This year marks Georgia’s second participation in the Olympiad, highlighting the country’s continued progress in AI education and talent development.
