McDonald’s has denied recent reports suggesting a possible return to the Russian market, clarifying that the renewal of its trademarks in Russia is solely intended to protect its intellectual property. The statement, shared by McDonald’s Ukraine office on X, emphasized that the company remains committed to its values.
The fast-food giant reiterated that it exited the Russian market in May 2022 following Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
“Our intellectual property is among our most valuable assets,” the company said. “McDonald’s regularly renews the ownership rights of its trademarks worldwide, even in countries where it no longer operates, to safeguard the brand and prevent third parties from exploiting it.”
