Labor Inspection: Renewal of Marriage Registration Should not be Accepted as Wedding Authorization

The Labor Inspection Service has made an additional explanation regarding the conduct of marriage ceremonies, the renewal of marriage registration should not be taken as a marriage permit.

“Part of the community received this permission as a permit to celebrate for one of the types of social events – weddings, which is not true. A statement issued by the Public Service Development Agency highlighted the recommendations made for the marriage registration ceremony.

In particular, the number of marriage applicants and their accompanying persons should not exceed 10 persons, and each of them should be represented in the registration space with face masks. Nevertheless, part of the society misunderstood the easing of the regulation and equated it with the permission of a social event – the solemn ceremony of marriage,” the statement reads.

Due to the restrictions in force in the country, social events are allowed with the participation of only ten people. Violators will be subject to appropriate liability, which is a fine of GEL 2,000 for an individual and GEL 10,000 for a legal entity.
