At a government meeting, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the decision to nominate Merab Dvalishvili, renowned MMA fighter and current UFC Bantamweight champion, for the highest state honors. Kobakhidze revered Dvalishvili for his outstanding achievements and emphasized their significance to Georgia.
“I congratulate Merab Dvalishvili on his great success that occurred yesterday. A Georgian winning the UFC title for two consecutive years is a remarkable achievement and highlights the sports talent of Georgians,” Kobakhidze said.
