Kobakhidze hails Vučić as ‘outstanding leader’ during landmark visit to Georgia

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze praised Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić as an “outstanding leader” and highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties during a joint briefing held in Tbilisi.

Kobakhidze claimed that Vučić’s visit marks the first-ever presidential visit from Serbia to Georgia, describing it as a milestone in relations between the two countries.

“Today, when modern global politics is experiencing a shortage of leaders, Serbia has an outstanding leader who firmly works to protect and strengthen his country’s sovereignty and independence and does everything possible for the well-being of the Serbian people,” Kobakhidze said.

The Prime Minister noted that the visit is expected to give a new impetus to Georgian-Serbian relations and deepen cooperation across a range of areas.

Kobakhidze said relations between Georgia and Serbia are founded on a long tradition of friendship, mutual respect, and close ties between their peoples. He also pointed to the countries’ shared Christian heritage and common values as important pillars of the partnership.

The Georgian Prime Minister thanked Vučić for Serbia’s continued support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that both countries understand the importance of safeguarding national independence.

The two leaders discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda, including opportunities to expand cooperation and strengthen political dialogue.

“I am pleased that we had the opportunity to discuss in detail the key issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda and to consider prospects for further deepening our ties. We paid special attention to the importance of political dialogue,” Kobakhidze stated.
