Medical Director of the Iashvili Children Hospital, Ivane Chkhaidze, today stated that the statistics of infection with coronavirus show that the number of cases has decreased compared to June. Statistics of European countries indicate that this wave can be described as the seventh wave, which lasts for two months.
“If we consider that the increase in cases started at the end of June, it is expected that the cases will decrease at the end of August. We think that the current and next week may be the peak of cases. Then it will decrease already at the end of August and beginning of September. The last 3 weeks the pace has decreased, but of course with the spring In comparison, this figure is high,” Chkhaidze notes.
He noted that WHO considers October-November as a possible period of increase of cases of coronavirus. “We have autumn and winter ahead when the increase in cases is expected,” added Chkhaidze.
