GNTA Participates in MATKA 2024

The National Tourism Administration of Georgia took part in the MATKA 2024 international tourism exhibition in Helsinki, Finland.

The ‘MATKA’ is a travel industry trade fair that takes place every January in Helsinki, Finland. Its name, which means ‘travel’ in Finnish, aptly reflects its focus and significance. Since its inception, it has grown to become one of the largest and most influential tourism fairs in Northern Europe and the Baltics.

The event is said not only to be the ideal platform to meet and network with other professionals of the sector, but also a place to present new products and services to a specialized audience of traders from the Nordic and Baltic countries.

MATKA not only caters to travel industry professionals, such as tour operators and travel agency operators, but also to individual travel enthusiasts.
Tbilisi City Hall, Adjara Tourism and Resorts Department, and various Samtskhe-Javakheti and Svaneti destination management organizations and tourism companies, participated in the 2023 MATKA with the organizational help of the Embassy of Georgia in Finland, garnering the interest of many among the 50,000 visitors from 70 countries who visited the 3-day tourist exhibition.

The Georgian delegation were alongside 850 tourism companies and organizations presented at the exhibition this year.
